Come, enjoy a scenic train ride.
The M & H Railroad is located just outside of Hershey and Harrisburg Pa

Visitors to the M&H Railroad will enjoy an 11-mile train ride along the Swatara Creek, while learning the history of the area. Passengers board our 1920’s vintage, Delaware, Lackawanna & Western coaches at our 1891 Freight Station in Middletown or at the Indian Echo Caverns Platform.

In Middletown, enjoy browsing in the Gift Shop for Thomas toys, books, shirts, jewelry or glassware, looking at the museum displays or watch the children at the Thomas Play Table.

During the ride, the train follows the towpath of the historic Union Canal and alongside the peaceful Swatara. The narrator relates the history of the Canal (completed in 1822) and the location of Canal Lock #33, as well as a century old limekiln and Horse Thief Cave. Passengers will have a "photographic moment" while crossing a 35-foot bridge above the Swatara Creek.

On the return trip from Indian Echo Cave Platform, you will enjoy a "sing-a-long" of tunes from the railroading days, as well as fun songs for young and old alike.

HOBO SACK LUNCHES
Available on Regular Operating Days at NOON ONLY beginning Father's Day weekend until October 1.
These lunches must be ordered at least 24 hrs prior to the day you ride.

Choose from Turkey, Ham or Cheese, or Cheese & Turkey, or Cheese & Ham Sandwich.
The price includes sandwich, chips and dessert item in a bandana, a Trainman will provide Soda or Water on the train.

Combination tickets (which include a Cavern Tour with the train ride) may be purchased at 10:30 am and 12:00 pm trains (if Indian Echo Caverns does not have too many large groups that day). Please note: This ticket is not sold at Indian Echo Caverns and is not discounted. It allows you to be on the next tour after your arrival at the Caverns, so no waiting in line. Indian Echo Cavern coupons printed off the Internet are not honored at our Ticket locations.
